Its Monday, Blah, Blah, Blah

It seems that I dread Monday on Sunday nights... This past week has been horrible.....Its terrible getting old... Being sick doesn't make it better...


I have had a touch of diverticulitus... If any of you know about this problem, it is very painful and the medication that is given to treat this just knocks you out... I feel like I have lost a week of my life... YUK..


I'm thankful for another day.  Live is precious, Live it! Love it! Be it!

What a crazy life I lead...

I know that all of us have crazy lives from time to time, however - mine is CRAZY right now.  My job is driving my crazy.. We are 4 people short on our staff... This is not a good time of the year to be short handed.  This is our busy time.  So I have been working from "the butt crack of dawn" to dark thirty several nights in a row... This does not make me happy... lol... nor does it may anyone else happy either.  shew... that is off my chest.. on to the next thing that has been running through my mind..


This past week I had to do two very difficult things.  The first thing was that one of my very dear friends had a dog that had to be put to sleep.  She called me and asked me to take care of things for her and I gladly did.  When she brought her dog in to be euthanized - she couldn't stay with her because it hurt her so much.  I volunteered to stay with the dog.  I stayed with the dog until she drew her last breath and just peacefully went to sleep.  I believe that this is the most humane thing you can do for your pet when they are so sick and don't have a quality life.  We can't do this for our human friends or family so for a sick pet it is most certainly the best thing.

The second difficult task of the week was another animal euthanasia.  :(  My son - adopted son (my daughters best friend) had a very ill ferret. He was so sad to see his little friend's life come to an end.  I again volunteered to stay with the pet..  I stayed with Ralph and he just went peacefully to sleep.  Sometimes it is a blessing to know that our faithful friends aren't suffering anymore...


I am thankful that there are things that we can do for our pets to keep them from suffering...

Something to make you laugh....

As most of you know, I work in a veterinary clinic.  Everyday is a different day.  Each day something new happens to open your eyes.... I thought I would share some of the most memorable moments on my blog.  

I have a class this term that is called  Social Perspectives on Death and Dying.  We discuss death and we had to write about a death that had left an impact on us.  I chose to write about a dog that passed away in our office.  We have a client whose dog was very ill.  The humane thing to do at this point was euthanasia.  We are fortunate with our pets that when they don't have quality of life, we can  help them not to suffer, unlike our human family and friends.  This particular patient has reached that point and the owner opted for euthanasia.  After the euthanasia was finished, the client requested to have a little service devoted to the animal in our office.  Of course, we said that would be fine...... And fine it was..... The client had some Sage and Sacred Tobacco that she lit and waved it all over the room.   Pretty soon the smell from the office was quite evident that something was burning..... I recognized the smell.  The client chanted  and waved the "sacred tobacco" over the dog and finished the ritual.  They left and I told the Dr. that I knew why that tobacco was sacred.  I'll not go on with the rest, but I am sure all of you can read between the lines... What a day.... Talk about being "High" on life...

Little bit of dis, lot of dat...

It is so amazing how life can change in just an instant.  I am so greatful for the life that I have, the opportunities that I have.  I am a blessed person.


I had the opportunity to spend the weekend with some girlfriends.  It was a total blast.  Sharing great memories and fun times....... We had the opportunity to see some of God's marvelous creations.  I stood in awe at how beautiful the mountains of WV are. 


The only bad part about the weekend was being a little sick from food poison... I won't go into the details, but it was BAD!!


I love my life, family, schooling and can't wait to finish with my degree!!!

Life is good....

Friday... Its finally here...

I'm sooooo excited for this weekend... I am going away for a much needed weekend of R & R!! Total girls weekend.... Whoo Hoo!!

What a great way to spend some time that with friends from high school.... I'm excited and can't wait to get this weekend on!!

Wednesday, Hump Day...

Ahhh... My 2nd favorite day of the week... Wednesday... Hump day....

Good morning fellow bloggers... Life is good.... I hope that all goes well today in the world.  I love school more and more every day.  I am so excited for my goals to become reality.  I keep looking deep into that tunnel and there is really light at the end..

Survived Monday, working on Tuesday...

Just another manic Monday.... Whew... I am so glad that Monday is a thing of the past... We were so busy at work and lots to do... The day went by quickly.

Tuesday is here and I am blogging..  A new thing for me and I love it!!

My life is fabulous and I am living it one day at a time.. Life is good !

I'm thankful for my friends, family and life itself!!!

Sunday night and I'm feeling it.......

Where does the weekend go.... I feel like I have been hit by a train, picked up by a plane and dropped on a barbed wire fence!!!! hahahahah... my husband always says this when he is really tired.... so I thought I'd share some of this southern genre' with you... lol..


Its Sunday night and I'm feeling the dread of going back into the real world tomorrow... It seems that we all  live for the weekends.  I know that on Monday morning when I should be up and at em' and ready to go to work.. sometimes I feel dread... I think this is normal.  but one question I will post to you all... Where does the time go?


I feel that as I have gotten older that time passes by far quicker that it ever did.  The days go by faster and faster, so what gives???   We are all growing older....


Ok... so enough of that... I'm going to be Optimistic.... sounds like a great topic for a research paper.


This blog has been part of an assignment for my Comp Class.  I think that I am going to love blogging.  I love to talk and what better way to express myself that through a blog.  I am excited to have this opportunity to share things with new friends and old ones.

TGIF!!!

All is can say it that I am glad it is Friday!!! I have only worked 1 1/2 days this week, but I sure am glad the week is almost over.... Being sick can sure take alot out of a person... Breathing has become very important to me... However - I am almost over this hump !  There are always folks out there somewhere that have it ten times worse that you do... I need to frequently remind myself of that....
